This battery champ comes with lots of storage, a very decent screen and it is compatible with all the canadian carriers, even Freedom, also could be used almost anywhere in the world. The software was very stable, no bugs, no restarts, no apps closing for no reason. It is running the lastest android stable version, it has 128gb of storage plus a microSd slot. The battery is massive and it is long lasting, you can use it for two and almost three days with one chaege, like zero battery anxiety with this phone. It is well built, no cracking sounds no button rattling, just fine. Everything is working as it should, the thermometer was on point. Performance is probably the weakest link, but considering the price and all the other features, I think it is fair to say that the performance is according to price, while everything else is above what you can expect from a phone this price point. I can’t stress enough how convenient is that a phone this cheap, with all this features comes with excellent software, no bloatware, no ads, no nasty surprises and that you can use it with any carrier without any thinkering is very very pleasant. Just insert your sim card and you are good to go. The cameras (wide and ultrawide) take fine pictures, video is a bit hit-or-miss with the focus hunting, specially in high contrast scene, but that is a widespread problem amoung cheap phones. In the box you get a clear plastic case, cable and charger. I got the green one, very appealing to look. The plastic back seems to hide fingerprints, and helps with the gripe, the tpu case also makes it easy to hold, which is very welcome as this is a thick and heavy phone (because of the big battery). I just love it, the screen is nice to look at, the long battery life is obviously the most remarkable feature, but being unlocked and compatible with all the carriers is also commendable. Cameras are decent, video can be more finicky, but still pictures are fine. Fingerprint is very reliable. The phone covers all the basics 3.5mm jack, radio, microSd, dual sim, usb type C, and everything works as it should be. The extras are very welcome, thermometer works as intended, the battery life is amazing, 128gb of onboard storage is hard to find at this price, the software is clean and works flawlessly, a very no nonsense approach. I can recommend this phone to anyone who needs a secondary device, maybe for work, or for camping or hiking, it can easily last the entire weekend on a single charge.

So let me start off by saying that this is a budget phone and missing a lot of the high end features of a flagship. But I’ll be concentrating on what the phone has rather than what it hasn’t got.

The looks of the phone and feel of it is great. I chose the jade colour and its nice. A transparent case did come in the box to protect the phone and show off the nice design and colour. A screen protector was also applied by the manufacturer when you get the phone but it does scratch easily so I will be replacing it with a glass one but I did appreciate having it on there till I got a replacement.

The screen is a 720p panel that is sharp the colours are neutral but can be more punchy after tweeking the settings. The screen doesn’t get that bright but is managable in sunlight and not a problem indoors.

I felt no slowdowns at all with the phone. I can’t comment on gaming but day to day tasks were not an issue for this phone. You tube was great to watch on the phone and the single speaker did a good job. There is also a ton on memory on board the phone so running out isn’t a concern to me. It’s nice to see 128gb on a phone at this price point. The only strange bug I’ve encountered with this phone is with Gmail. Everytime I tried to open a link in Gmail it would crash. To circumvent this issue I and to copy and paste the link in my browser. The thermometer is a handy tool that’s part of the phone but I can’t comment on how accurate it is. I tested it on a few of my kids that were not sick and they registered fine on it. I was not able to get temperatures of static objects.

Phone calls were clear and I had no issues at all with that. The phone does run on 4G on the Telus network and I’ve got speeds of 70mbps, not slow at all!

Battery life is excellent on the phone. After all it is called the power 5. The battery lasted all day for me with over 8 hours screen on time.

Lastly the biggest letdown of this phone is unfortunately the camera system. It takes to long to focus on an object resulting in missed shorts. It’s constantly hunting for focus, I’m hoping this will be sorted in a software update. When taking videos it’s useless due to the focusing issue. The photos are useable but the videos are not.

Who is this phone for? It’s for someone who needs all day battery life and a phone that can handle day to day tasks that a phone should do. Until they can sort out the camera you have to consider if that’s important to you.

This is probably my 9th Umidigi phone. They keep cranking out winners. I’d rather spend a few hundred for a device that satisfies my needs, then a thousand for a flagship. For most daily activities, you would think you spent big bucks on a flagship. It has the features people want, a giant battery, full screen, nice cameras, a side fingerprint scanner. This device will meet 90% of people’s needs. It just feels like a quality device. I have never been unhappy with an Umidigi device. My kids have Umidigi phones, and they love them. These pictures were taken in direct sunlight and it still looks great. I’m very impressed with this device and I absolutely love the temperature scanner. I’ll probably be using that alot in the near future. One last thing I feel is ESSENTIAL to add, and the proof is in the picture, almost every unlocked cell phone never works on the Verizon Network. This one does ! Search unlocked phones and you will see most say At&t, and t-mobile only. I swear any SIM I throw into a Umidigi phone, just works. Thank you Umidigi, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Comes with Android 11 installed. No bloatware on the phone.

I have been using the phone for a week, the phone has not dropped wifi yet, which is good. I put my at&t sim card in and the phone worked great. Sound was good. The Volte works great.

My prepaid VOIP RedPocket Verizon sim would not work, but the phone has the band for Verizon and all the correct APN settings, so i’m pretty sure a plan and simcard from Verizon would work.

The camera is easy to use, the macro setting gets in real close, the wide angle is great, everything is good.

The bluetooth connected to everything right away, including my umidigi ear phones across the room, also, connecting to my smartwatch was easy.

The phone is light, considering the large capacity of the battery, and the phone is thin. The battery lasts forever! I and the phone stays cool.

The thermometer works great, matches my mouth under the tongue thermometer readings.

When I first booted up the phone, there was a firmware waiting. The update hung up a bit, so i reset the phone, and tried again, this time the download went smooth, and then the install went great until 99% and then it hung up for about 10 minutes and everything was fine, all updated. I think I was impatient on my first attempt.

The flashlight is bright located on the pull down menu, the screenshot is also on the pull down menu, page 2, and works easily. There is an fm radio also, using wired ear phones as the antennae.

There is a smart key (button) on the left side of the phone, that works with a quick push, 2 quick pushes or a long push, these pushes are all programmable. Zello came programmed as first choice, but that is easily changed using the settings.

The Screen protector came already applied, and the protective clear back silicone case was also in place.

No screen lag when going from one app to another, everything operates very smoothly.

I’m a geocacher, so I went off to locate a few using the phones built in gps and geocaching app, and there was no problem finding the geocache. The GPS was very accurate.

I’ll update if I have problems or discover a new feature.

For the price, a great phone/camera!!

This phone is excellent, especially for its price! Visually, it’s very pleasing to the eye with the colour and textured back. The phone is also a good size for browsing, watching videos and gaming. The speakers are very good, along with the microphone which is nice and clear. I tried many gaming and video apps. They worked very smoothly. It’s great for browsing and regular everyday use as it runs very fast.

The camera quality for all cameras and modes are very good. There are many different modes on the camera app which all work amazingly. The front camera and the main camera are some of the best I’ve seen for this class of phone. The macro camera can pick up a lot of tiny details and the ultra-wide angle camera is very useful to fit more into a single picture. The night mode brings more light and contrast to photos and the pro mode produces awesome high quality images. This phone also has a built in thermometer, which is very accurate and useful during the pandemic.

The customizable smart button on the phone makes accessing specific apps or making commands so much easier. The fingerprint, facial and speech recognition all work effectively as well. It has a very long battery life as it lasted for 2 days with moderate use. The battery also recharges at an extremely fast rate. I am very impressed with the quality of the phone and its affordability overall. 100% recommend.

I needed a cell phone for my mom and so I opted for the Umidigi Power 5. Comes with Android 11 and no bloatware. big bonus!

The design of the Umidigi Power 5 is elegant and modern. Comes with a protective case and glass screen protector. Awesome! love the teal color too. Excellent size and very comfortable for my mom who normally needs reading glasses . There is a USB C port and an analog audio connection. In addition to the two nano SIM cards, a microSD card can be inserted into the SIM slot for memory expansion. In addition, the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the on / off switch and the Umidigi Power 5 also offers an assignable button. Very cool. the Thermometer is excellent. very

The battery has a capacity of 6,150 mAh and lasts a long time. I charged after 2 days but I believe will easily last 3.
Camera has multiple options ( multi lenses) which is great for outdoor shots during the day but I found indoor not the greatest and faired worse than iphone 7. You have macro/1x/2x and ultra wide ability which is really cool. didn’t get a chance to test video but I’m sure its great.

Played some games like pokemon go but I found the game lagged somewhat during battles. Could be the servers though.

A very good smartphone for the price. My mom is happy and that’s all that matters.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

I was really put back at the quality of this phone. I have had some Umidigi Products but not a phone. This was my first and I was blown away for the quality for under 200 dollars. The phone’s battery last at least two days with moderate use. It has Android 11. I purchased the 4gb Ram 128gm Storage phone. I download a lot of apps so I need as much ram and storage I can get. The phone was somewhat sluggish until the first update. After the first update the phone ran like it should. The phone’s performance was on a new level after the update. The phone got stuck on the first update but eventually updated on it’s own. This phone is almost as good as a flagship phone except the screen. If you placed it next to a S21 you would see the screen difference, but hey we are talking 1200 dollars for a S21 versus under 200 dollars for this phone. Anyone looking for a unlocked phone for 200 dollars the Umidigi Power 5 is the way to go. I would recommend the 4gb model with 128gb storage. Also it came with a free case 🙂

I am enjoying my Power 5. The screen resolution is great and easy to read outside. I use polarized glasses and can see the screen with them on in landscape mode. Camera is great, although I must admit I’m not a great judge on picture quality, my wife is the one who takes the pictures. But I feel the picture quality is on par with my wife’s iPhone. The phone very responsive and I’ve much fewer mis-clicks than my previous phone.
The side mounted finger print sensor performs way better than expected. It is like 99% reliable, only two or three times have I had to press it twice in over a week. Its location is right with my finger rests normally so its second nature to use.
Also, I found a happy discovery. There is an IR thermometer. Its ideal for me at the moment. I coach YMCA soccer and I have to take all the kids temps before each practice.
    My pros and cons list:
    • Fits nicely in my hand and pocket.
    • It looks and feels like a high-end phone at a fraction of the price.
    • GPS is accurate, matches my Garmin watch’s result on my 10k run.
    • Get great service quality and coverage in my area (no calls have dropped)
    • Love the IR thermometer.
    • 5G is not supported. Although 4 G works just fine for my needs. I have WiFi most places and 4G speeds with just fine for my needs
    • Doesn’t support NFC. That would be a nice to have but not a show stopper.

All and all, I would recommend the Power 5. It’s a quality phone for a much more reasonable price than the major brands. I don’t think its worth a few hundred dollars more just for a brand name.
