I love this PC. After years of my wife not wanting to see the desktop computer, I found this little powerful PC. It is pretty awesome and runs fast. I got it during black Friday which saved me about $100, so I got a screaming deal on this. I don’t regret my purchase at all. The kids can play their games, like minecraft and other online games. I haven’t tried anything too intense, but it works for our needs.

A NUC was not my first choice for a new computer – I wanted a laptop. After a while I realized that the laptop I was replacing had not left my desk in over 4 years! As I began looking at desktop options, I learned that I could get a lot more bang for my buck because a desktop (or NUC) did not have a monitor or keyboard. This machine at under $600 is far more powerful than laptops I was pricing at around $1,000. As for the NUC, its size means I get back my desk as a workspace. In fact, it came with a standard mount that allowed me to attach it to the back of monitor – another bonus. If you don’t travel with your machine – and most of us seem to travel with phones instead – then a NUC is a fantastic option. Side benefit – my techie friend who is a programmer running his own software company was envious of this purchase!!

Had to return the one I ordered, the DisplayPort would not work. Tried a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and also a DisplayPort to DVI cable, no luck with either. Tried the power down method on both monitors as mentioned on many troubleshooting sites with no luck. I noticed there was a Samsung mobile phone previously paired to it as well as an HP Printer already added as a device, certainly not mine.

I’m bummed out while writing this review as I was really looking forward to upgrading from my ancient Lenovo All-In-One. On Amazon, I had the option to get a new one shipped before I sent this one back for replacement but for some reason there “was an issue with your request” if I chose that option.

On the bright side the boot up was fast and Windows 10 was responsive. The mini form factor is perfect for my limited desk space. As soon as the refund comes through I’m trying again.

Updated to 5* to reflect the excellent customer service and to share the final resolution. The seller reached out to me to even after the return had been processed. After exchanging emails we collectively identified the problem was with my DisplayPort cables. You will need an active DisplayPort adapter if you’re going from DP to HMDI. My experience with this seller is that the customer service and care in ensuring customer satisfaction is aligned with the same quality as that of Amazon’s own customer service.

I’m using this as a firewall, running Fedora 33. I test installed CentOS 8 first to see if it worked — it did — but I’m wanting better firewall admin tools, so I’m using fedora instead. To do this, I first updated Windows to the latest update level, and then replaced the NVME m.2 drive this comes with (a 512 GB Kingston) with a 1GB Samsung 860 EVO. Windows updated flawlessly, and was quick and snappy.

With both Windows and Linux, I used a USB 3.1 2.5Gb ethernet dongle and tested how it behaved; it worked flawlessly in both environments. This is essential in my application because the box comes with two 1Gb wired ethernet ports, and I need a third due to servicing two internal (LAN) networks and one external (WAN) network.

Sadly, the AX200 Wifi 6 adapter does not have good Linux drivers, and slowed down quite a bit; this doesn’t hurt use of this device as a classic stock distro Linux firewall because such firewalls don’t normally also serve as a wireless access point or need wireless connection to another server. The device, however, was blazingly fast under Windows 10, so if you are just looking to use Windows, this box really is a mitey mighty thing.

Attached to my watt watcher, this thing runs at about 45w — the server it is replacing is slower and runs at 110w. I can feel slight warmth as the fan beneath the box runs, and its noise is very low and unobtrusive — I have to be within 3 feet of it to hear it even a tiny bit.

Be aware that the Ryzen 5 3550H is already being replaced, so this is “last generation”, which is why they are selling at a lower cost.

I got this so I could run 49 zoom screens, and an occasional game. It boots up in seconds, runs great, and met all of my needs. Very good.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

Great mini pc, this has a fast boot time of about 15 seconds, it has all the needed ports with 4 USB 3, display, HDMI, two ethernet, and USB C. A lot of the mini pc’s have only a Intel Celeron or Pentium processor that will only support web browsing and youtube videos, this has 16 GB of ram which is easily upgradeable not soldered on the board with something ridiculous like 4 GB, and there is a M.2 drive instead of even SSD. USB C on the front has the functionality to keep it up to date. Performance of all the ports is great. With the Ryzen 5 processor and 16 GB of memory, my son says it is running faster than the previous desktop he used to play games which had 24 GB of ram, it did have a slower processor but it also had a dedicated video card. He runs a lot of games that don’t require much like Minecraft and Roblox, but some of those games I have had him test on other mini pc’s in the past that wouldn’t run them. Great mini pc, works great at his desk that doesn’t have much space.

Right up front, I am NOT a gamer. This computer was not bought for blazing speed and amazing graphics. I use the MS Office Suite, several other office/productivity applications, and a few computer games (not high-powered stuff, just cards and board games). This machine, that seems impossibly small, boots quickly, responds quickly, and hasn’t given me a single frown since I first booted it up. For non-gamers, this is a great computer for the price!
