Although it’s a lot shorter than in the pictures, I really like it cause it works well for my car. The AC vents are completely free. I will just mention though that 2014 Ford Escapes don’t have the bottom lip needed to hook the bottom clips to, so I used zip ties around the base of the seatbelt and hooked it on there. My dog doesn’t try to get in the front (I bought it for safety if I brake fast he won’t fly in the front seats) so it’ll work.

We have a golden Retriever who usually wants to get in front with us. When she does, we stop the car, and have her go back in the rear seat of our SUV. For the most part, with the barrier, she stays in the back. She can put her head under to get close to us. Now, we found out, if she wants, she can get in front. The barrier is more a sight piece telling her where she belongs. And when in the front, she can jump over it and get in the back.

I like that it only takes a few minutes to install this product.
Holds a box of kleenex or any other items with no probles.
Items are in easy reach, but out of the way.

Great product for keeping my dog in the back seat. Which is great for everyone’s safety! I don’t have a large dog so I can’t say if it will work for a large dog, but worked great for my small/ medium sized dog.
Great product and folds up real small for easy storage, fits right into glove compartment or middle console.

Super easy to put in and it looks like it belongs there. It works perfectly for keeping my beautiful bouncing boy boxer in the back seat of my Rav and off of my center console. … I do miss the kisses though.

Easy to instal, but not very strong at all the puppy managed to chew through it in a matter of a few min while I was driving 😅 would recommend for other uses but if you have a puppy they might be able to chew right through it.

Cant say she’s wild about the safety net, but we love it! It’s sturdy and keeps her from sneaking into the front seat. Having a 50lbs dog on one’s lap isn’t very comfortable. This solved the problem nicely!

We had high hopes for this pet car net barrier😄 Especially since our rescue pup loves to go bye-bye and absolutely loves to ride in the front seat.. sometimes trying to get in our lap while driving. We would try to keep her in the back seat but she would constantly jump and force her way up into the front seats.. If you have a pup like ours then you completely understand how hard that can be😅
But it can also be a dangerous distraction too while driving so that’s why we decided to look for something to keep her in the back seat👍When we found this we were really excited.. that is until we tried it. The picture shows what would’ve been a sweet pup sitting in the back seat with the new net barrier in place but instead it’s a picture of her in the process of jumping over it 😄😁 Guess we’ve got to keep looking for something since this didn’t work for us.
It was easy to install and seemed like it was made well.. I could see it working if your pup is alot smaller or possibly if they are alot less active than ours😊👍

Like the fabric, easy to install, only fits seats close together.
Will not work on middle seats in van, dog can go under it.

It covered the drink holders but I was able to maneuver it slightly to work. That being said it cant be used for storage if you’re using the cup holders.

I LOVED the idea of this barrier, but it didn’t go over so well with our baby (see video). It only made her find other ways to get into the front seat/stand on the console. That said, the installation was a breeze, arrived exactly as described and when it was supposed to. It’s a great product, just didn’t work out for us. Unfortunately, by the time I realized that it wasn’t going to work out it was too late to return. Would recommend to others (without pits).

***Editing a year later: The bungees along the sides have snapped and Iʻve retied them several times now to the point that I canʻt retie them anymore. Some of the mesh is getting worn out due to my dog leaning into the barrier heavily every time we drive. He also can climb over it at times when he needs to get into the front seat for “guarding purposes,” I guess, and a few times heʻs gotten tangled in it and I have had to help him out — but he can untangle himself if he wants to. For the most part this has been a good product, and after a year is wearing out, so Iʻll be buying another one.***

Wish I would have found this years ago! Having my dog in my face while Iʻm driving, or blocking my view to the right, has been an issue for me for ten years. Passengers riding in the front seat have been annoyed with him right there “guarding me from them” as well. This is easy to install and it still allows him freedom to be close enough to me while Iʻm driving that heʻs secure, and he can see what he wants to see, and knows he needs to be back there while Iʻm driving.

He does from time to time climb over it, like when we stop at the dog park and he sees other dogs and has to get out NOW, like what happened yesterday. I was initially worried that heʻd get tangled in it and not be able to get untangled if I stepped away from the car for a few minutes. That hasnʻt happened yet. The clips will come unhooked at the bottom if they need to give way, if he gets agitated for some reason, and theyʻre easy to re-hook.

I havenʻt tried storing anything inside the two layers of mesh yet, but thatʻs a handy feature to have.

Mostly heʻs learned that he has to wait for me to get him out of the back seat now. I really appreciate that this has kept him where he needs to be while weʻre driving, and I donʻt see any drawbacks to the product or the design. I should add that heʻs a 90-pound very affectionate, very protective, very active, very vivacious 10-year-old GoldenDoodle.

DYKESON’s pet barrier is a universal product made for most vehicles with proper mounting points, creating a physical and visual barrier to help prevent pets and kids from jumping into the front seats. While not perfect, it does just as good as you can expect it to.

    The Good

    • Mesh creates a good barrier between you and pets/kids
    • Doubles as a mesh pouch for storage
    • Stretchy rope creates decent fit as long as it has points to mount
    • Top clips secure pretty well
    • Does not obstruct anything beyond the center console

    The Bad

    • Bottom clips just holds onto the seat rails or just wherever you can find
    • Initially figuring out proper orientation is confusing
    • Fit of the mesh is highly dependent on seat position
    • Requires the adjustable head restraint’s rods for proper mounting
    • Only comes in black
