This is my first Dell. I have loved my Toshiba laptop for the last 8.5 years, but I was getting nervous about how much longer it would last. I wanted to upgrade before anything crashed irretrievably, and there was no sense in putting a newer version of Windows or Office on my old laptop. Toshiba is no longer making laptops, so I had to whittle down some choices. Dell’s reputation led me there, and this model has most of what I had in my Toshiba (minus the touchscreen, which I only occasionally used). I like the large touch pad, and the screen quality is outstanding — everything is bright and readable. Getting started with the Dell was easy and comfortable. It actually took far less time to put my Toshiba away and use the Dell exclusively than I thought it would. For an affordable price I’m very happy with this purchase.

Bought for my Wife, works great for general use, email and internet. I have used Dell laptops for many years, they are reliable, I would by this again if I needed one

Needed a laptop for basic video conferencing and word processor functions that could replace my older laptop that had Wifi connection issues and was slow as dirt. This laptop loads quickly, doesn’t lose connection to the internet. It does all I need it to do. The camera could be better though–it’s not that great at low lighting. But I have a second camera I can use that resolves the issue.

This is a great affordable laptop which is perfect for students. My only complaint is that the speaker did not work when I took it out of the box and it was not at all straight forward to get it working. New drivers didn’t help. Troubleshooters didn’t do anything. Basically had to reinstall Windows. Works great now.

This is literally the best computer I have ever owned. SSD is the way to go and with 512 gb even better. Everything just works instantly and the set up was super fast and easy.
This definitely can be used for regular computing as well as normal gaming. I personally use this laptop for graphic design work, and it works perfectly with Adobe software. The colors and the graphics card are great, the ram, etc. are all very decent in this machine. It just opens instantly evetime. Also its an IPS screen, so every angle looks great on the screen. What really looks nice on the screen is that there are virtually no bezels around the side. Somehow the web cam fits up top and I love the slide closed feature to protect from scammers.
I really like that the keyboards lights up and I feel it’s a real necessity, I especially like when the Caps key lights up as well with an additional on and off light. Its very important for me when I work in a dark room. The keyboard itself is really nice and smooth to type on and they are very quiet as well. I also really like the very discreet fingerprint scanner.
The battery is absolutely amazing it lasts about 4-6 hours depending on what you are doing at the time, but I would have better numbers with an accurate battery test.
The laptop is extremely light and because it doesn’t have large bezels the machine is a little smaller than my older 15 inch laptops.
The sound quality is good, not the best but very decent and works well.
I wish it was a touch screen as well but it’s not a deal breaker for me. I also wish the screen would get a litter brighter than the highest setting but again not a deal breaker for me personally. It would also be nice if the laptop would have some more usb drives since it doesn’t have a CD drive. One major flaw is the internal fan. The laptop gets very hot when not used properly and I highly recommend an external laptop fan for longer and gaming type usage. Without it the internal fan just gets too loud.
Overall, this machine is a beast and I absolutely recommend this, great job Dell!
